Greenbrier Lodge A.F. & A.M. was chartered at Lewisburg by the Grand Lodge of Virginia on December 5, 1796.  The Charter Members were James W. Williams, Archer Mathews and John C. Brown.  This lodge is the oldest Masonic Lodge west of the Allegheny Mountains.
